Legal Defence Services -
With Police budgets reducing there is an increasing risk that evidence is not fully explored prior to prosecution. Failure to seize all of the relevant CCTV, the use of unqualified staff to process evidence and failure to apply advanced analysis such as facial comparison are examples of the prosecution cost savings that are encountered with increasing regularity.
BSB has recently launched a service linking our different disciplines where appropriate to assist defence lawyers in locating additional evidence and exploring all elements of the forensic evidence submitted. Location of ‘other’ relevant CCTV cameras, the enhancement and analysis of imagery, authentication of handwriting or recovery of all deleted data from a phone or computer are just a few examples of where we have helped in the past.
Whether presenting or challenging evidence the experts at BSB Forensic have extensive experience in criminal and civil case work and can help provide a complete appreciation of the evidence in the client’s case.
Private Client Services -
Over the past year we have experienced a vast increase in the number of instructions received directly from private clients and corporations who are either the victim of crime, involved in the Civil Courts or are being prosecuted by the police.
It is vital that these clients initiate an investigation into all elements of the evidence available and consider whether forensic assistance can help their case. In the case of corporate victims, issues which may be a major concern to the client, for example theft of data or malicious acts against staff, may not be of sufficient importance to the police for them to deploy the necessary resources. To assist in these cases BSB Forensic has launched a service aimed to cater for the integrated needs of the Private Client.
Modern technology means that there is increasing cross over between our different forensic disciplines. Questioned document analysis of scanned documents recovered from computers, audio recordings recovered from CCTV systems and fingerprints recovered from hard drive connections inside a computer are a few examples. By allocating a case manager to coordinate the close working relationship between all our in house disciplines, all potential evidence can be fully investigated.
