The Forensic Examiner is solely concerned with comparing the way writing was made for the purposes of identifying the author. In any comparison the more material the better. The expert will try to identify any personal habits formed in the way letters are made or joined.

A person trying to copy anothers habits will often have difficulty in surpressing their own habits or maintaining the correct fluency of the other persons normal writing. Similarly a deliberate disguise is difficult to maintain so the more samples the better.
